The International Surajkund Crafts Mela, an annual cultural extravaganza held in Surajkund, near Faridabad in Haryana, showcasing the rich heritage, arts, crafts, and cuisine of India and participating countries, will be held on February 7-23, 2025.

Organised by the Haryana Tourism Department in collaboration with the Union Ministries, the event attracts artisans, craftsmen, and performers from across the globe. The vibrant fair is known for its exquisite handicrafts, handlooms, and cultural performances, offering visitors a glimpse into the diverse traditions and lifestyles of different regions.

Principal Secretary, Heritage and Tourism Department Haryana, Kala Ramachandran said on Tuesday that the state has preserved its rich cultural and historical heritage.

Addressing a review meeting with officers from Faridabad district administration today regarding preparations for the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, she called it a matter of pride for Haryana to effectively host an event of international significance. This year, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have been selected as theme states for the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela.

Besides, BIMSTEC nations – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand – are the international organisations and North East Handloom and Handicrafts Association is the cultural partner of the Mela. The Delhi Metro will be the ticketing partner for the event.

The Mela will be fully digitised, and all relevant information about it will be available on surajkundmela.com, she added. Under the guidance of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, extensive preparations are underway to ensure the grand success of the Mela.

During the event, Haryana’s rich culture will be shared with other states and BIMSTEC nations. At the same time, Haryana residents will get an opportunity to experience the diverse cultures of these regions, said an official statement issued on Tuesday.
